I have a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in General Business from Stephen F. Austin State University. I, also, have a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Grand Canyon University.

My Transition to Education

I possess several years of experience in the healthcare and client services field. However, I felt my life lacked a sense of purpose and fulfillment. In 2018, I decided to take a different direction with my career and transitioned into the education field because I have always had a passion for education and learning. I've often been referred to as "a professional student", and I wanted to help students develop this same passion for education as I possess.

I began my career in the education field in 2018, where I taught 9th grade Principles of Education and Training and Principles of Human Services at Alief ISD. After completing my first year in education, like many other teachers, I struggled with the idea of whether a career in education was for me. I spent my summer in Southeast Asia reflecting on my first year as an educator. After my month of self-reflection, I returned to the States with a new drive and interest in education and specifically the instructional technology and design subsector of education. Here, I am now as a third year teacher, currently teaching at my alma mater, Eisenhower High School.

I am a digital immigrant, who has developed a passion for technology over the years. I am the person that spends hours and hours on my couch surfing the internet and I can't fathom a life without technology. I believe that educating students and teachers about technology is an absolute necessity in the digital age that we live.

Hobbies

Outside of education and technology, my other passions include decorating, event planning, and travelling. I am the founder of Chic Affairs by K.Nhycole, a consulting firm that specializes in event decor and travel planning.
